Web Development 101

Never written a line of code, but always wanted to learn? This is the course for you! You will learn proper code structure, syntax, and other foundational principles for each of the web’s core languages – HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

This course is 100% online, features live coding sessions and group check-ins, and includes weekly 1-on-1 video mentoring sessions with the instructor.

Web Dev 101 is all about helping you become comfortable with the fundamentals of web development. We will focus on proper structure, syntax, and implementation of the web’s core languages – HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Effectively plan out your web development projects
  • Properly structure a document using semantic HTML
  • Apply custom styles to your markup using CSS
  • Understand basic JavaScript data types and how to work with them

Weekly Topics

  • Week 1: HTML tags, elements, attributes, and structure
  • Week 2: CSS syntax, selectors, and styling
  • Week 3: JavaScript variables, data types, arrays, and objects
  • Week 4: JavaScript operators, comparisons, conditionals, and loop
