Effective + Legally Defensible Job Interviewing

There is rarely a job that anyone gets without being interviewed.  So, everyone is doing it.  There are various guides on the market to help interviewees successfully land a job.  But, there are fewer resources available to support those in management who have to select talent.  Many who find themselves needing to conduct interviews have never been in a position to have to evaluate talent.

In this interactive workshop, Dr. Elliot Lasson will explain how to develop an employment interviewing program for your organization, big or small.  This class will cover professionally appropriate and meaningful questions, while at the same time avoiding inquiries which could put the organization at some legal risk.  The workshop will make use of role play to better demonstrate the practical dynamics involved.

  • Understand the objectives and dynamics of interviewing
  • Ability to apply the best practices of asking questions and evaluating responses
  • Know the types of interview questions that are either inappropriate or could present risk of legal liability

Some experience in hiring employees and interviewing, especially if those hires did not pan out.

  • open discussion about interviewing and hiring challenges
  • overview of interviewing
  • pitfalls of interviewing
  • best practices in interviewing
  • reflection time and questions
  • interview role plays

This workshop will be held at Betamore’s City Garage campus at 101 W. Dickman Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.
