As User Experience professionals, we know that the principles of universal design benefit everyone: we should strive to make our information and our applications accessible to all. However, accessibility can seem like an overwhelming topic – where do we start? What are the guidelines? What is the UX designer’s role in the process? In this session we’ll introduce the standards, including the new WCAG 2.1 guidelines published about a month ago, do a quick demonstration of assistive technologies, and explore the types of deliverables that can be used to specify accessibility compliant interactions.
